Francisco Morais Esteves (DC7) had the opportunity to present some of his group’s latest findings at the 9th International Calicivirus Conference, held in the picturesque town of Banff, Alberta, Canada. Francisco and his team at Erasmus MC (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) have been investigating the factors behind the emergence of new norovirus variants, which are currently driving numerous outbreaks and sporadic cases around the globe.
This conference, held every three years, brought together the global community of Calicivirus researchers. It provided a unique platform to share cutting-edge discoveries in Calicivirus research and to discuss future strategies for tackling the worldwide burden of these viruses.
