Yesterday, 20th May, Francisco Morais Esteves, GlycoNoVi’s DC7, gave a talk entitled “Norovirus versus humans: Will we ever catch the Ferrari of the viruses?” for the Rotterdam’s edition of Pint of Science NL 2025. He introduced an audience without a scientific background to the norovirus world and to the biggest challenges that norovirus research faces today and will face in the near future. He also gave them a sneak pic 📸 of his group’s (Norovirus group, Viroscience department, Erasmus MC) exciting findings about a new norovirus found near Rotterdam during the King’s Day celebrations in 2024. In the end, the crowd gave him a very positive feedback, and asked him very good questions. It was a great evening, dressed with the very tasty beer of BrewDog Rotterdam! 🍺🔬
